Our First Aid at Work Course provides learners with the essential skills, confidence, and practical knowledge to respond effectively to medical emergencies in the workplace. This accredited training meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, ensuring employers fulfil their legal obligations to provide adequate and appropriate first aid provision.

  • Introduction to First Aid – the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Assessing an Incident – primary and secondary survey techniques
  • Unresponsive Casualties – recovery position, airway management, and CPR
  • Use of AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Choking – recognition and treatment of mild and severe airway obstruction
  • Wounds and Bleeding – managing minor and severe bleeding
  • Shock – causes, recognition, and treatment
  • Burns and Scalds – assessment and first aid response
  • Fractures, Sprains, and Strains – immobilisation and management
  • Head and Spinal Injuries – identifying symptoms and providing safe support
  • Chest Injuries – including crush and penetrating wounds
  • Medical Conditions – dealing with seizures, asthma, anaphylaxis, and heart attack
  • Record Keeping and Reporting – workplace documentation and incident reporting
  • Hygiene, Infection Control, and Scene Safety – protecting yourself and others
  • Continuous tutor assessment throughout the course
  • Practical demonstrations and scenario-based activities
  • Short written or verbal knowledge check
  • Accredited First Aid at Work Certificate awarded upon successful completion (valid for 3 years)
